Vintage vs. Modern

Last weekend, Joe and I took a trip to Old Downtown Grapevine. The great thing about Texas is there are so many nooks and crannies that you can delve deep into. It’s a great little melting pot. The people. The towns. The nick knacks. It was a bit chilly walking down Main Street, so it was a nice welcome to enter all the little shops and stores filled with homemade goods. Aromas of pumpkin spice, scented candles and old wood filled the air.

Check out that car! It’s a Lotus! I’m not quite sure what that means but Joe certainly got a kick out of it. This is the “modern” of this post. Ha!

I remember visiting my dad in Iowa years ago and he occasionally would want to stop at an Antique shop. I hated it. “This stuff is so old. Who would want this stuff?” As years have gone by, I somehow have found a new appreciation for all things old vintage and antique-y. Yeah, I’m sure that’s a word.

Check out this fella. What a hunk!

Eventually we got a bit hungry so we headed over to Napoli’s, an Italian restaurant (not the Texas Rangers catcher/first baseman). Oh, and they sell all sorts of sweets and gelato. Yum!

Couldn’t resist a good snapshot of this crazy character.

What? You didn’t think I’d end this post without showing you the deliciousness of what I ate did ya? Pesto Chicken Pasta, get in my belly!
