Swap Parties

{WARNING: IF YOU ARE A DUDE (PROBABLY JUST JOE) YOU MAY WANT TO SKIP THIS POST. IT’S GIRLY. REALLY GIRLY!}

You’ve been warned. On to the good stuff.

One of my favorite things to do nearly every week is paint my nails. For a woman, polished nails make a woman feel sexy, put together and, well, polished (pun maybe intended). If I have plans with friends or a date night scheduled with Joe, you can find me nestled up on the couch getting my paint on.

Colors range from bright orange to dark purple to several shades of red and pink. If you’re unsure of my mood, check the polish. If I’m ready for a fun night, it’s bright colors. If I need to be professional, it’s a nice red. Versatility is what’s awesome about nail polish. It ranks pretty high in important weekly regimens.

I came across a new swap party that I certainly couldn’t resist hosted by the lovely Jenn at Perfectly Imperfect and Whitney over at I wore yoga pants to work. I don’t know how I didn’t think about this awesome idea.

Nail Polish SwapThe premise is simple. Sign up for the swap. Get a swap buddy. Go pick out some awesome polishes that you’d love to own yourself. Send it off to that sweet swap buddy. And don’t forget to go explore that swap buddies blog. I guarantee you’ll find a new blog to follow.

Guess who my swap buddy was this first go-around? The awesome Bethany of the lovely blog Basically Mrs. Behavin’. Cute name, huh?

Here’s a little note from her:

Well, we’re basically twins because we ended up getting each other the same color nail polish! How crazy is that? Here’s what this chickadee sent me:

Absolutely LOVE these colors! And she even sent me some lip balm. Holla! Yeah that coral reef up there? That’s the one where we read each others minds. We’re awesome like that. You can be jealous. What’s funny is that I chose colors for Bethany that I would personally love to have. I think that was some serious foreshadowing for what I’d be getting in a few days.

I love getting to know new bloggers and expanding my blog community. It’s fun and swap parties are one of the best ways to make that happen.

Thank you, Bethany! You did an awesome job.

Go check out what I got Bethany!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’d like to go freshen up my nails with some Vibrant Violet. Have an awesome Wednesday lovers!
